Qwik Stik Shifters

Short-throw shifters seem to be what everyone wants. Most are based on a ball-and-socket design with coil springs for their bias. Coil-spring shifters will eventually lose their tension and will cause the shifter to feel sloppy; then you will start missing shifts.

Driveline Components builds a unique short-throw shifter based on a spherical bearing and a hardened dowel pin to pivot on; it uses Belleville washers for its bias. Belleville washers never lose their tension because they aren’t coiled like a spring; thus, the shifter will always have the same feel as when it was new. Made of the finest quality USA aluminum and steel parts, these shifters are made to last. A rubber boot is used to seal the shifter, preventing the transmission fluid from leak through.

These shifters come for various transmissions, as well as multiple offsets to fit the older cars as the newer 5- and 6-speed transmissions are adapted into them. These shifters are biased to 3rd gear, which is the hardest gear to power shift into. But with the Qwik Stik shifter, it’s impossible to miss 3rd gear unless you try to guide the shifter into gear. With the palm of your hand and a straight push forward, the shifter will go from 2nd gear straight into 3rd gear without missing the gear.
